For over a hundred years, drivers have been used to quickly topping up before moving on with their journey. As Volvo hurtles towards becoming an all-electric car maker by 2030, they've made recharging and paying for an electric Volvo even simpler. Through the Volvo Cars app, you can search hundreds of thousands of public charging stations across the globe from different providers, get up-to-date information on availability and handle payments all in one place - making fuelling your pure electric Volvo easier than ever before!
“Many of us are familiar with the frustration of having to navigate multiple apps and carrying multiple cards for different charging operators,” said Olivier Loedel, head of Electrification Ecosystem at Volvo Cars. “Our goal was to make life easier for our customers and remove one of the major barriers for customers to switch to an electric car. With the Volvo Cars app, we will create one digital charging platform.”
The US is paving the way in the electric vehicle revolution, and thankfully, these advancements are expected to spread up to Canada. Last year, Volvo Cars released an enhanced version of their ChargePoint app - allowing users to search for and pay for charging at over 25,000 locations across the country. They also recently announced a partnership with Starbucks that will see 60 Volvo-branded DC fast chargers installed along a 1,350-mile route from Denver to Seattle - enabling motorists in electric Volvos to charge up quickly and easily. In Canada, we're already seeing progress in this area too, thanks to ChargePoint's and Volvo Canada's collaboration on the XC40 Recharge project, signifying a further milestone in transitioning to electric mobility.
Volvo is leading the charge in making electric cars more accessible and easier to use. Through their Volvo Cars app, drivers can search for public charging stations across the globe from different providers, get up-to-date information on availability and handle payments all in one place - simplifying life for those who choose an electric vehicle over gasoline power. With partnerships like Starbucks and ChargePoint allowing users to easily find charging locations along long routes, it's clear that Volvo is serious about helping make a transition to electric vehicles as seamless as possible. The future of transportation is upon us, with this innovative technology paving the way!
