The 2022 Volvo S60 Recharge is offered in two trim levels that both highlight the impressive performance of its powertrain. The 2022 Volvo S60 Recharge features the most advanced powertrain Volvo has ever produced. This plug-in hybrid system is composed of a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0L engine and an electric motor. The supercharger and the electric motor provide ample torque at low speeds to ensure an impressive responsiveness, a characteristic that is often lacking in turbocharged engines due to the time necessary for the turbo to spool up and provide a boost in performance. The turbocharger is used in this application to increase the higher-end of the powerband. Combined together, these three systems make for strong performance at any speed and an instant response to your inputs. The R-Design model can count on 405 horsepower while the special tuning of the Polestar Engineered model bumps up its output to 420 horsepower. Despite this performance, both models are capable of driving up to 35 kilometers without using a single drop of fuel and creating any harmful emissions.
